5th Day

5th DAY

Today it was the last day of our project and the final competition was about to start so we finished  programming our robot and making it more stable,  apart from building new arms for knocking over our opponents. This is why we have had to put into practice the acquired knowledge during this week, using all the sensors and programmes we had learnt before. You can see the final outcome in this picture, but later we incorporated a bow to make MariCarmen look great.

Once all of the above has been done, we have done some checks in the place where our robots would “fight” hours later and we have moved to another class to start the contest.

The first competition consisted of several rounds and two main groups, Group A and Group B. The robots that were in each group had to fight between them, getting two points if they win, one in case of tie and 0 if they lose.

Maricarmen has finished in the fifth place in the first competition but in the second one, which was a preliminary round, we have been eliminated in the first round.

After these competitions, we have disassemble the lego pieces and now we are going to eat some snacks all together to celebrate the effort made during these week!

Without a doubt, we have enjoyed this project and we have  found it very useful and interesting to learn in a different way!

4th Day

Today, we have incorporated ultrasonic sensors to our robot so it could see with them and avoid different obstacles, which consisted mainly of two cardboard boxes. Here you have a photo:

We have also completed other circuits like one in which there were four deodorants and Mari Carmen had to pull them until where the black circle ended. You can see this in the following video:

To finish, we have started preparing our robot for the final battle, following different strategies to beat other robots.

3rd Day


Today it has been our third day in this project and we have done lots of different things.We have started to practice with the kicker that we created yesterday and our objective was to throw down some skittles as yesterday , but today we had to do it with touch sensors. We also made a challenge in which one we had to compete with the other groups and we finished in the second place Here you have a video:

Later, we started working with colour sensors and our aim was to make our
robot stop and move when it saw different colours.

During the last hour of the morning and on the afternoon we have to make an essay about the film that we saw yesterday. We also have to make an scratch project so today is going to be a bussy day. We better get to work!

2nd Day

Today, we have incorporated arms to our robot and with
 those arms we had to take small boxes and transport them. We had to take them  through a circuit and put them in a green area. Here you've got a video and a photo:

Moving on to the second half of the day, we have started to build a kicker to complete another task which consisted of throwing down six skittles .




To finish the day we are going to see a film called "Yo, Robot" in order to learn more about robots and the way they work, with and without humans facing different situations. It seems interesting.

1st Day

1st DAY


Today we have started our project called "Robótica". It consists of five days in which we are in small groups and our aim is to build a robot. During the construction of it , we are supposed to program it according to the circuits that our teachers have given us. Two new teachers have also come to help us , their names are Antton and Maren.

To start with , we have decided the name of our robot , it is called Mari Carmen and we have constructed it witgh lego pieces and engines during the first two hours. Here you have a photo:

Besides, we have also learnt how to use a computer program in order to make the engines work the way we want. After several attemps, this is one of the results:

As you can see , here the robot is following some of the instructions that we have given him to complete the intinerary marked by the teachers.

We have really enjoyed this day because we have had the  choice to learn how a robot works and as it is a new thing for us , we have found it very interesting.
